Whether you are new to our practice or have been coming here for a number of years we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you a little bit about us.

Keith Preston BDS    Principal Dentist

General Dental Council registration number 79450

I qualified from Glasgow University in 2001.  I have worked in the practice since 2005 after returning from 15 months travelling and working in Australia.  In 2009, along with my wife Gillian, I bought the practice from Thom Rankin, who was retiring.  This has proven to be a real challenge, but one that I am relishing!!

Away from the practice I enjoy most sports and am currently trying to find the time to work on my golf, however most of my spare time is now spent with my daughters, Rachel and Chloe, so I don't anticipate any improvement in my golf handicap in the near future!

Gillian Preston BDS, MFDS RCPS    Principal Dentist

I qualified from Glasgow University in 2001 and spent a year in general practice, followed by a year in the Community Dental Service in North Lanarkshire.  This  allowed me to complete my Membership of the Fellowship of Dental Surgery in 2003, and also gave me experience of working with medically compromised patients and as part of the childrens sedation referral service.

Since returning from Australia in 2005, I have worked in general practice in Greater Glasgow and I am now looking forward to coming to work in Coatbridge..  The remainder of my time is spent looking after our two children Rachel and Chloe and fitting in a zumba or pilates class whenever the opportunity arises - if ever! 

John Broers BDS   Associate Dentist

I qualified from Glasow University in 2010 and have been working with Keith, GIllian and the rest of the team at Coatbridge Family Dental Care since then. Prior to this I also spent some time working in South America treating patients with limited access to dental services.

Outside of dentistry I am an enthusiastic musician, playing both the guitar and piano. I also enjoy playing football and tennis in my spare time.

Jamie Kerr BDS Vocational Dental Practitioner

I qualified from Glasgow University in 2011 and have been part of the team at Coatbridge Family Dental Care since then. Before arriving at Keith and GIllian's practice I travelled to Costa Rica and Panama to provide dental treatment to small communities with no access to dental services.

Outwith dentistry I enjoy playing football regularly. I currently play for a local amateur team, which involves training midweek and matches on a Saturday afternoon. I also try to find time to play some golf when the weather permits!

Lesley Blair    Receptionist

Usually I can be found at reception and should be here to welcome you when you arrive.  I started as a dental nurse in this practice in 1987 and qualified in 1992 having completed a 1 year course at Coatbridge College.  I moved from the surgery to reception in 1993 as a "temporary measure"- and I've been here ever since!!

When I'm not at work I enjoy reading, walking (as long as it's not uphill!) and spending as much time as I can with my family.

Karen Barnes    Dental Nurse

I began dental nursing in the small Yorkshire market town of Ripon in 1975.  I love dental nursing and every day is a new challenge for me.  Putting patients at ease by listening and talking to them is a very rewarding part of my job.  I qualified in Oral Health SVQ level 3 in 2006, many years after I first started dental nursing.  As part of my qualification I spent time at the practice and was glad to be kept on after qualifying. 

Away from work I enjoy reading, eating out and going to the theatre, but my greatest passion is travelling.  The world is a big place and I intend to see as much of it as I can!!

I achieved my dental nursing qualification in June 2008.  As part of my college course I came to the practice on day release and when Keith and Gillian offered me a position when they took over I was keen to join their team.

In my spare time I like to socialise and spend time with my family.

Debbie Callaghan    Dental Nurse

I qualified from Coatbridge College in June 2008.  I joined the practice in June 2009.  Although I work part time, my contribution to the practice is very important as I also provide cover for holidays and, where possible, come in when other staff members are off for other reasons. 

When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Erin Mcilroy     Dental Nurse

I began dental nursing in 2000. I only did it for a short time, but 10 years later, in 2010, I decided to return and gain my qualifications. I started working for Keith and Gillian in August that year and am really enjoying it. I will usually be found working with Keith.

When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
